Heldergroen B.V.

Heldergroen B.V. grows herbs and leafy greens under seven hectares of climate-controlled glass just outside Utrecht, supplying supermarkets and foodservice distributors across the Netherlands and Belgium. Founded in 2015, the company now employs around 130 people, roughly a third of them in its in-house agronomy and automation team, who tune light, CO2 and nutrient dosing across the hydroponic gutters by the hour rather than the season. The greenhouse runs GlobalG.A.P.-certified production and harvests basil, coriander and mixed baby leaf on cycles as short as eighteen days, packing around 40 tonnes a week for same-day dispatch. A dedicated robotics cell handles seeding and transplanting, while crop advisors walk the rows daily to catch pest pressure early under the site's integrated pest management programme.
